I picked up these photos on the Nana Journals site, but Art credits the photos back to Stickman.

Anyway, the differences are pretty stark.

If you’re wondering why people blogging on the internet keep saying that Nana Plaza is slowly dying while Soi Cowboy gets stronger, these pics help answer that question.

For more pictorial history of Bangkok’s pay-for-play scene, make sure you check out Bangkok Eyes, one of the consistently great Bangkok web sites.

Bangkok Eyes is a monthly site devoted to maintaining a pictorial history of the signage in Bangkok’s pay-for-play scene… talk about a niche market. It’s always been one of my favorite Bangkok web sites.

Interestingly the lead story on Bangkok Eyes this month is about Nana Entertainment Plaza, and it starts with a photo of the newly repaired sign out front.  Bangkok Eyes isn’t writing about the death of Nana Plaza… rather, they write a lot about it’s growth and development.  Have a look and see what they have to say.

By the way, for a look at the Nana Entertainment Plaza sign BEFORE the recent repair, just look at the header photo on the Nana Journals site.

Here’s one more pic of Nana Plaza from this month’s Bangkok Eyes:
